About the AssignmentYou will step into a central quality role within a maritime and shipyard-focused operation where technically complex work on vessels needs to be followed up with high precision. Here, you work closely with production, suppliers, and other key personnel to ensure that installations and construction maintain the right quality, follow specifications, and meet applicable regulations.
This role suits you if you thrive when theory meets reality in the field and wish to contribute with both technical depth and a sharp focus on quality. You will become an important part of detecting deviations early, making technical assessments, and strengthening quality in critical moments within welding, piping, and electrical systems. This is an exciting assignment for anyone who wants to combine specialist knowledge with significant influence in a specialized maritime environment.
Responsibilities- Conduct inspections and quality control of welding work, piping, and electrical installations on vessels.
- Monitor quality in production and installation, ensuring work is performed according to requirements, standards, and specifications.
- Identify, document, and report deviations, and contribute to implementing the correct corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with production, suppliers, and other stakeholders in projects and operations.
- Make independent technical assessments and drive quality issues in daily work.
- Work both in planning and on-site in a shipyard environment, where travel is a natural part of the role.
- At least 8 years of solid experience in quality work within a maritime environment.
- Documented experience in inspection of welding, piping, and electrical installations on vessels or similar industries.
- Good understanding of quality standards and technical regulations within shipyard or offshore operations.
- Fluent or very good knowledge of Swedish, English, and German.
- Ability to work independently and make technical decisions.
- Ability to undergo and pass a security clearance (requires Swedish citizenship; dual citizenship is not accepted).
- Certifications in relevant areas, such as welding (IWI/IWE), NDT, or electrical authorization.
- Experience working with classification societies, such as DNV or Lloyd’s.
- Permanent employment with Avaron AB.
